FreeYond M5 5G LCD display replacement is for internal image faults such as fixed lines, spreading black areas, flashing, abnormal colours, half-screen output or no picture while the phone still makes sounds or vibrates. These symptoms can occur even when the outer glass is not cracked.
How LCD damage differs from cracked glass
The front of the phone contains separate functional layers. Surface glass can be broken while the picture remains clear, and the internal display can fail beneath unbroken glass. The FreeYond M5 5G uses a 6.78-inch IPS LCD with 1080 × 2460 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. During diagnosis, fixed lines, spreading black patches, flicker, partial output or loss of image are assessed through the display and connection path; a surface crack with a normal image remains a different repair intent.

What we verify before fitting a display

After fitting, the display is tested for uniform colour, brightness, edge image, touch accuracy and normal display refresh behaviour. Can the LCD fail when the glass is not cracked?
Yes. Pressure, impact or a connector problem can damage the image layer without leaving a visible fracture on the outside.
Why are there black spots or ink-like marks?
Those marks usually come from damage inside the display panel. They can spread when the screen is pressed or flexed.
Can changing the refresh setting remove fixed lines?
No. The M5 5G’s 120Hz setting changes how often the display refreshes; it does not normally remove a persistent physical line. The panel and its signal path should be inspected.
Why is the screen black while calls still arrive?
The phone may be operating while the display, backlight or connector has failed. Boot and sound checks help separate an image fault from a no-power fault.
