The Samsung Z Flip 8 cover screen, also called the FlexWindow, is the small screen on the outside of the phone. It can be used while the phone is closed.
Original Cover Screen Specifications
The original cover screen is a flat 4.1 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1048 x 948 pixels and a pixel density of 342 PPI. It supports 60/120 Hz refresh rates.
The 4.1 inch measurement is the full rectangular diagonal, or 4.0 inch when accounting for the rounded corners. The rounded corners reduce the usable viewing area. The original exterior protective glass is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
How the Small Screen Can Become Damaged
A drop onto a hard surface or a knock against an edge can crack or damage the small screen. Pressure from heavy objects or squeezing the phone inside a tightly packed bag can also damage the display.
Damage may appear as cracks, chipped areas, black patches or lines across the screen. Display or touch functions may also stop working correctly after an impact.
Avoid pressing on a damaged area or pulling out loose pieces of glass. Keep the screen away from further knocks and pressure.
